A thick, tasty BBQ sauce that has just the right amount of sweetness from honey, smokeyness from bourbon, and a mix of savory spices.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a saucepan, combine ketchup, honey, bourbon, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce over medium heat
Add minced garlic, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper
Stir well to combine
Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency
Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before transferring to a blender or using an immersion blender to achieve a smooth texture
Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed
