Ingredients:
- 2 lbs beef stew meat
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 3 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 cup red wine
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
Instructions:
Put olive oil in a big pot and heat it over medium-low heat
Put in the beef stew meat and brown it all over
Put the celery, carrots, onion, garlic, and onion in the pot
Cook the vegetables until they get soft
Add red wine and stir it in, scraping the bottom of the pot to get rid of any brown bits
Sage, bay leaves, salt, and black pepper should be added along with the beef broth
Bring to a low boil
Put the lid on top and cook for 1 to 2 hours, until the beef is soft
Add some water to the flour in a small bowl and mix it together to make a slurry
Be careful not to break up the stew
Simmer for another 10 minutes or until the sauce gets thicker
Before you serve, take out the bay leaves and rosemary sprigs
Enjoy while hot
