Ingredients:
- 1 box of chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 24 Reeses Miniature Peanut Butter Cups unwrapped
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
Warm up your oven to 350F 175C and put cupcake liners in a muffin tin
Follow the directions on the box to make the chocolate cake mix with the eggs, vegetable oil, and water
Mix until its smooth
Just enough cake batter to cover the bottom of each cupcake liner
Each cupcake liner should have a Reeses Miniature Peanut Butter Cup in the middle
Then, add more cake batter on top of the cups until they are hidden and about two thirds full
After the oven is hot, bake the cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean
On a wire rack, take the cupcakes out of the oven and let them cool all the way down
To make the peanut butter frosting, mix the creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, softened butter, vanilla extract, and salt together until the frosting is smooth and creamy
You can use a piping bag or a spatula to frost the cupcakes with the peanut butter frosting after they are cool
Melt the semisweet chocolate chips in a bowl that can go in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring each time until they are completely melted
To make a pattern, drizzle the melted chocolate over the frosted cupcakes
After the chocolate drizzle sets, your Hidden Reeses Egg Cupcakes are ready to eat
